Useful Information for Planning Your Trip

When is the best time to visit Mexico?

The optimal time to visit is from December to April. During these months, the weather is mostly dry and pleasant, ideal for beach outings in coastal areas and city tours in Mexico City. This timeframe avoids the summer's heavy rainfall and potential hurricanes.

Which Mexican airports have direct flights from the US?

Direct flights to Mexico are abundant, facilitating easy access to its various regions. Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) in Cabo and Cancun International Airport (CUN) in Quintana Roo offer numerous direct connections from cities like Los Angeles, Miami, and New York. For those heading to Yucatán, Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (MID) in Mérida is accessible with a quick stopover through Mexico City, which itself is served by Mexico City International Airport (MEX), a major hub with extensive direct flights from across the U.S.

Do I need a visa to visit Mexico?

US citizens do not need a visa for short visits to Mexico, up to 180 days.

How many days should I spend on vacation in Mexico?

We recommend 7 to 10 days per region. This time frame allows for a thorough exploration of each area’s unique attractions, from Cabo’s beaches and resorts to Yucatán's historical sites and Mexico City's urban culture. A combined trip to Yucatán and Quintana Roo can be comfortably covered in about 10 to 14 days.
