When is the best time to visit Greece?
The best time to visit Greece is during spring (May to June) or fall (September to October) when the weather is pleasant, and tourist crowds are thinner. The summer months (July and August) are very hot and the beaches are crowded. Visiting Athens and the Ancient Greek monuments in November is a great option, as the weather is pleasant, the number of tourists is not overwhelming, and the value is better.
Which Greek airports have direct flights from the US?
Direct flights to Athens' airport (ATH) are available from New York, Boston, Washington DC, Atlanta, and Baltimore. The flight takes almost 10 hours.
Do I need a visa to visit Greece?
US citizens do not need a visa for short visits to Greece, up to 90 days. However, a valid passport is required, and starting sometime in 2025, an ETIAS authorization will be necessary for Americans which we're happy to help with. More info here.
How many days should I spend on vacation in Greece?
An ideal vacation in Greece would last from 10 to 14 days. In that time period, you can visit Athens and the surrounding area, before continuing your trip and spending a few nights on 2 or 3 idyllic islands.
