Useful Information for Planning Your Trip
When is the best time to visit Nepal?
The best months to hike in Nepal are March, April, October, November. The temperature varies from mild to cold depending on the altitude you are at and the visibility is good, allowing for incredible mountain views. If you are not interested in multi-day treks, visiting Nepal in winter, December to March, is a good option as the skies are very clear. Avoid the summer, when the humidity and smog block the mountainous scenery.
Are there direct flights from the US to Nepal?
It is not possible to fly directly to Nepal from the US. Your journey will require one connection (or two depending on your city of departure), either in India or Qatar. We can help you make the best of your layover and optimize your flight schedule. Expect a minimum travel time of 20 hours to land in Kathmandu airport (TIA)
Do I need a visa to visit Nepal?
US citizens need a visa to enter Nepal. The visa is obtained on arrival, directly at the airport. Travelers can choose the duration that best suits them, either 15 days, 30 days, or 90 days.
How many days should I spend on vacation in Nepal?
The answer to this question depends on which hikes, if any, you wish to do. You will need a strict minimum of two weeks to complete the Annapurna Circuit or the Everest Base Camp trek. If you prefer to skip the trekking part and would like to visit the main sights, a 10-day itinerary would allow you to enjoy a pleasant variety of activities.
